In 1968 he upgraded to a Lotus 41 1500cc that he raced for the next 3 seasons. Ken, the ever faithful Lotus man, then purchased a Lotus 59/69 in 1971 that he raced for the next two years.

Until 1969, the Tasman Formula specified open-wheel single-seater racing cars similar to Formula One cars, yet retaining F1 engine rules that were in effect until 1960.
