WebThe stainless steel hardware will enable you to fit them to most rigid 26", 700C and some 29+ frames, just as forks equipped with drum, caliper, or cantilever brakes. Disc brakes and suspension are generally not compatible with Surly rear racks. Even though the rear rack will work with disc brakes on Surly Troll, Ogre & Disc Trucker frames. WebThe Surly disc rack will not work because it needs mounting bosses that are partway up the seat stay like on the Straggler. My favorite cheapish rack is the Axiom Journey . It has good rear extensions to keep panniers from swinging into the wheel, is rated for 70 kg/154 lbs, and can be found for $40 in the US.
