WebAug 26, 2006 · Thinking it might be the result of too many nectarines (2-3/day) I avoided them. However, three weeks later my tongue still feels burned & extremely sensitive to acidic foods (even mild salsa burns for quite a while). I can see that there are tiny little bumps in the "grooves" of the surface (which are red & very sore) when I "roll" the tongue. WebMy condition doesnt seem to be any of those causes. it seems to be clusters of canker sores. possibly due to excess chewing of Dentyne Fire gum. the irritation caused by the spicy gum, produced the now apparent sores and the grooved texture. im rinsing with salt water and bearing the pain until hopefully it clears up.
