WebValkyria Chronicles is a classic with great worldbuilding, fun characters, an engaging love story, and an extremely unique fusion of real-time and turn-based combat that props up a strong tactical RPG core. VC4 is also now one of my favorite games of all time, but the original is no slouch, either, and probably even better in a few respects.
