A dial indicator would be a useful tool, in order to tell just how much of the lobe is gone. Usually once a lobe starts to go, it keeps going, and is noticeable to the eye. WebMar 24, 2024 · Ask anyone who worked at a GM dealership 30-40 years ago. It was a HUGE problem back then, even with zinc and whatever other elixirs the oil companies put in the can. I personally replaced hundreds of cams for flat lobes. Thank gawd they finally went roller. Buy once, cry once.
